Put a Quarter In It
Energetic discussions about all things energy
“Put a Quarter In It” comes from a student who was in a class that Debra Hurt and I were teaching. She said she loved asking a question and getting a really juicy, in depth, OVER answers to her questions. Debra and I really do over answer every question. This student proclaimed that she was going to bring a roll of quarters and keep feeding the juke-box to hear all the hits…she was gonna “put a quarter in it and just sit back and listen”. We thought that was really funny and it has stuck.
It is a little baffling to Debra and I that anyone would want to hear us ramble on… but here ya go. The first installment of Put a Quarter In It Debra and I discuss energy and soul… you know the juicy bits right?
Welcome to the first episode!
This is an introduction of our co-hosts; Jill J. Stevens, Dr. Sara Allen, and Debra Hurt. How we all came into the wonderful world of subtle energies and why we love it so!
In this episode, Sara and Debra get into the discussion between Soul and subtle energies, and how it relates to healing in the body.
Shaking – trembling – all indicators that there is something that is frightening us. Hear a little bit about why we think that shaking is an excellent way to regulate the nervous system.
We continue our conversation on shaking. Sara and I (Jill) live in Western North Carolina and have been affected tremendously by Tropical storm Helene. Thank you for your patience in the uploading of this episode.
Today we offer a special election episode from the perspective of energy. How Mother Earth’s changing auric color has played an important role in the course of humanity. Also, some energy techniques to help with the anxiety and fear.
Today’s discussion is on the hypothalamus, a pearl of the brain; which just might be the boss of your stress sergeant, Triple Warmer. We are also introduced to another TW, tribal weaver! We talk about an Eden Energy Medicine technique called the black pearl, and how it can help regulate your stress! Thank you as always for listening.
Today we have our first travel episode! Recorded in Phoenix AZ after an Eden Method event at the Wigwam Resort. Sara and Debra discuss how our sensory and elemental types meet at the edges of the auric layers and how that informs our manifest reality.
We continue the discussion about the layers of the Aura, bringing in the body’s North Star, the Assemblage Point. We also revisit the hypothalamus, which is called the black pearl and another pearl emerges to make the magical third thing.
Chaos is a favorite topic of Debra’s! She and Sara discuss the difference between chaos and chaotic, how our elements respond to chaos, and the creativity that chaos can inspire!
Brain Fog. What is it? How is it created? This is a very complex topic about the balance of subtle energies in the body. We are going to spend several episodes delving into the creation of brain fog, what to do about it, and the culture behind it.

In this episode Debra and Sara discuss the dynamic balance between our Fire and Water elements. Also, how important the role of Small Intestine 11 is by discerning the best way to protect Heart from the myriad of inflammation attacks. This episode is full of imagery but also some helpful acupressure points.
In our 3rd episode on this topic, we dive into the spiritual, mental and physical aspects of treating brain fog and the idea of watering the mind. How does that manifest in the treatment of brain fog? Too much water can cause the fog, but too little water, too dry, creates a burning. You can be damp in the energy body but dry in the mind. Sara and Debra also give more acupressure points that can help balance our energies while treating brain fog.
Today we finish our topic of brain fog and inflammation with a discussion on the culture of Big Yang. Western society is characterized by an overwhelming compulsion to prioritize our job/money making over work/life balance. This is Big Yang culture and it creates stress and inflammation in our energy body, which then affects our society as a whole. Can we unlearn this behavior and make a different choice?
